Benchmarking performance of power utilities PDF Print E-mail

Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), 29 September 2010 – Limited availability of reliable information on the performance of power utilities in the Pacific region presents a significant challenge to systems improvement and institutional reform.

To address this, the SPC, Pacific Power Association (PPA) and the Pacific Infrastructure Advisory Center (PIAC) on behalf of the Pacific Regional Infrastructure Facility (PRIF) have agreed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a sustainable benchmarking system for the power utilities in the Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs). This MOU was signed in September 2010.

Signing of the MOU (left-right): Mr John Austin-PIAC Manager in presence of Ms Cori Alejandrino-Yap PIAC Research Officer; Dr Jimmie Rodgers-Director General, SPC in presence of Mr Alain Goffeau-Head Project Administration Unit, ADB; and Mr Tony Neil-Executive Director, PPA.
